Week 10A: Researching Email Marketing

1. I think I should send two emails per month. The reason I think this is a good schedule is because we are a weekly delivery service. I think that by sending a newsletter every 2 weeks it will remind customers to reorder product if they have run out, and remind those who have been meaning to try it that we're here. I also would like for this newsletter to be interesting and something customers actually want to read. If I send out newsletters too frequently, they will inevitably get annoying and start to be ignored. 

2. Some of my ideas for this newsletter are updates on children's nutrition. I would look at recent studies, books, articles etc. and use them as a starting point to write a quick but insightful newsletter that teaches something new about child development. I also think it would be fun to share recipes on the newsletter, similar to my idea for a blog. Each newsletter will feature a new recipe that can be made using our products. I also think it would be great to update about any new work we are doing with local vendors. A major piece of my business model is that we work exclusively with local organic farms. I'd love to update our email list whenever one of our farmers has an exciting update on their business, or let them know when a new produce has come in season! I want it to feel like a community update and not just an ad. It could also be interesting to sometimes share a customer story, something that the readers can relate to. For example, if we have a client that wishes to share how introducing NuNu into their families routine has helped improved their toddlers behavior. For example this is a post from a children's supplement company that explains how adding key nutrients to their children's diet has helped with their temperament issues. Lastly, I will feature promotions and coupons on the newsletter that are only available via email subscription (for example, Holiday Promo!)

Week 2A: Communication Between Business & Consumer

      There's no question that social media has drastically changed the relationship between businesses and consumers. The main factor enacting this change is the way social platforms have streamlined each parties ability to communicate with one another. Week 1A: My Blog Theme

      When choosing a blog theme, I debated my options. I first considered something custom, flashy, and artistic. Something unforgettable. However, upon playing around with this concept, everything felt a bit too busy. My next consideration was to go hyper minimalist. While the clean lines and neutral colors relaxed my lizard brain, the overall mood of my blog felt to blank to be an expression of myself. I suddenly realized that this theme debacle represented an issue I have found myself grabbling with time and time again.      My personal aesthetic is difficult to define. Sofia Coppola's film Marie Antoinette is something of a dream to me. Everything colorful, ornate, details and design bursting from every angle. Week 3A: Aesthetics, Design, and Branding

1.      The first website I see issues with is that of MGBD Parts. The mixed font sizes and colors is very disorienting and its hard to focus on any one point they are trying to get across. Also, there isn't a clean introduction page, you are just thrown into a messy homepage with images and font spread all over the page, nothing is centering your attention and its hard to know where you're supposed to look. Thirdly, the page is very outdated, it gives the impression that the owner hasn't taken time to modernize their company and may not provide top tier service.      The second website I visited was Penny Juice. Like MGBD Parts, the homepage is not giving me a clear message as to where they want me to go. I cant tell if they're selling a product, raising money, or just an info page. I also feel that the stock images that they put on their website steer me away from trusting their product, as it gives me the impression that there isn't tremendous pride in their bran
